This trip is a special experience that combines cycling, good food, wine and history .
Spend a week surrounded by the beautiful scenery of Tuscany, eating delicious food and interacting with the locals.
Whether you love cooking or cycling, we welcome you!

This tour takes you through the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Val d'Orcia and the towns of Pienza, Montalcino and San Quirico.
You will also visit the hilly landscape of Crete Senesi and the medieval city of Siena.

Every day, after a pleasant bike ride, enjoy authentic Tuscan cuisine made with local ingredients.
You can enjoy a variety of wines, including Brunello and Chianti Classico, as well as Morellino and Vin Santo.
Cooking classes are held on many days, and Chef Paolo will teach you in a friendly manner.
After your trip, you'll be able to recreate Tuscan cuisine in your own home.

There is a wide variety of restaurants, from homey trattorias to lovely ristorantes.
And of course, you can choose your bike! Hybrid, gravel, e-bike, whatever style you prefer.

Tuscany Cycling x Cooking Detailed Program

Day 1 | Friday: Welcome to Val d'Orcia

Meet at Chiusi Station, on the main line between Rome and Florence, between 13:00 and 13:30.
Travel by private van to Villa La Pieve di Massaini, ideally located among Tuscan vineyards, olive groves and medicinal plants.
Discover the cultural heritage of the Val d'Orcia (UNESCO) and visit Palazzo Massaini, where fine wines and olive oils are produced.
Once your equipment and bike are ready, take a short test ride.

From 6:00 p.m. there will be an overview of the week, followed by a cheese and olive oil tasting with Chef Paolo , and dinner at the villa.

Day 2 | Saturday: Montalcino and the World of Brunello

The 40km ride takes you through the Sangiovese vineyards and into Renaissance-style scenery.
Approximately 80% of the journey to Montalcino is on gravel roads. Visit the town square and the 14th century fortress.

Afterwards, we head down to the Monastery of Sant'Antomò.
Wine tour and lunch at Fanti Winery.
The return trip is optional and includes a challenging 48-mile route.

For dinner we went to 13 Gobbi in Montefollonico and enjoyed the famous pici cacio e pepe.

Day 3 | Sunday: Enchanting Pienza

A 38km ride takes you to Pienza, considered the ideal example of Renaissance urban planning.
Visit Piazza Pio II, Palazzo Piccolomini and the Cathedral.
The route passes through beautiful villages such as Castelmuzio and Montisi, with the final 4km being on gravel.

From 4:30pm, you will have your first cooking lesson with Paolo. You will make handmade pasta and enjoy a classico sparkling wine as an aperitif.

Day 4 | Monday: Le Crêtes and the Abbey

After breakfast, depart from the villa.
Visit the Monte Oliveto Maggiore Monastery, built in the 13th century and famous for its frescoes in the cloister.
Afterwards, we went to a landscape called Le Crete (Tuscan Wilderness), a mysterious landscape that resembles the surface of the moon.

Tonight's pizza party at the villa! Enjoy a variety of pizzas and select wines.

Day 5 | Tuesday: Bagno Vignoni Thermal Baths

We head to Bagno Vignoni via Monticchiello, which retains its medieval atmosphere.
Experience the ancient healing hot springs, also known as the Via Francigena pilgrimage route.

Gourmet picnic lunch today.
Dinner will be at Podere Il Casale.

Day 6 | Wednesday: Radicofani and the Robber Ghino di Tacco

A gentle climb and hilly ride leads to the medieval village of Radicofani.
The fortress offers spectacular views of Val d'Orcia, Monte Amiata, the Apennines and the lake.
We will trace the legend of Ghino di Tacco, a righteous thief who also appears in Dante's Divine Comedy.

Tonight is my final cooking lesson and farewell dinner with Paolo!
Don't forget your apron and your appetite!

Day 7 | Thursday: See you next bike tour!

After breakfast, everyone will be taken to Chiusi Station between 10:00 and 11:00.
